The Finlay wedding... Classy & simply perfect...

Just 2 weeks ago, Jessica and Aaron Finlay, of Pensacola, FL tied the knot (you know, the one that's basically superglued and can never come untied, THAT knot!)  These two didn't put on your everyday, showy, complex, fireworks at the end style wedding... They opted for something a little more simple and sweet, where the details weren't all carved in stone ahead of time, but instead the memories were created as the day went on. 

Jessica and I had the unique experience of being childhood neighbors and friends and crossing paths a few times throughout the rest of our school years. I was simply ecstatic to get a call from her requesting information about wedding photography. To be able to watch her fall in love and begin a new life with the man of her dreams, who is made up of unique personality traits as well as talents... was a VERY special experience. Jessica is undoubtably a strong woman who I admire for her confidence as well as inner beauty. 

Cheers to the new Finlay family and thank you for your hospitality. I am SO grateful to have been able to document this special day. Your love is beaming in every shot!

Welcome, Lazy Summer Days... Inspired Shoot

This past week, I had the privilege of being able to bring together a phenomenal makeup artist: Morgan King Makeup, a ridiculously gorgeous and confident model: Juli Spears, and another photographer in addition to myself: Kaylie B. Poplin for a lazy summer day inspired photoshoot in Alys and Rosemary Beach, FL. 

Our shoot style consisted of dramatic & lazy posing... sighs of boredom... beautiful and classic makeup... lots of glowing sun... an interesting juxtaposition of outfits... and of course our beautiful, luxurious backdrop of nature and architecture in Alys and Rosemary Beach. 

I hope these shots make you feel like our warm/glamourous summer days are just around the corner. I can't WAIT to take advantage of them and get even more outdoor fashion shoots underway! 

Huge props to these 3 ladies who helped bring my vision to life and did a phenomenal job being a part of it! You are all such wonderful people to work with and I'm looking forward to our next opportunity to team up again!

Headshots with a little personality! Model: Amy Willis

Photographing friends never ceases to be rewarding! Amy and I met just last year through a mutual friend and I've been so glad to get to know her. She's a very driven, unique woman with a great sense of humor. No matter what the situation, Amy can always manage to find humor! She's been able to pair her sweet, fun-loving personality with the sometimes strict career of being a lawyer. We had a blast getting her some updated headshots last week and the weather couldn't have been more perfect!

 Bonus photo: It took quite a few attempts for us to get a "selfie" shot with the timer. Every so often, the remote doesn't seem to connect to the camera... Hence me kicking the air in this second shot... That was frustration at it's finest! ;) Got to love behind the scenes ***
